T-Mobile's 5G network is growing again.
T-Mobile has expanded its 2.5GHz 5G coverage to parts of 81 cities and towns. Some of the places that are getting new 2.5GHz 5G from T-Mobile today include Paramount, CA; Gainesville, GA; Waltham, MA; Long Beach, NY; and Sherwood, OR. The full list T-Mobile 2.5GHz 5G cities is available at the bottom of this post.
With this expansion, T-Mobile's mid-band 2.5GHz 5G is available in 89 cities and towns. T-Mobile says that it plans to continue expanding its 2.5GHz 5G coverage at a rate of 1,000 sites per month and that it will be available in thousands of cities and towns by the end of the year.
2.5GHz 5G will help to increase capacity and boost speeds in the cities where it's available. Some places with 2.5GHz 5G are getting average download speeds of 300Mbps and peak speeds near 1Gbps.
T-Mobile has several devices that are compatible with 2.5GHz 5G in its lineup. Those include the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy A71 and A51, and Galaxy Z Fold 2. The OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren and OnePlus 8 5G support 2.5GHz 5G, too, as does the LG V60 ThinQ 5G.
T-Mo also uses low-band 600MHz and high-band mmWave spectrum for its 5G network. In all, T-Mobile's 5G currently covers more than 7,500 cities and towns.
