Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G shows its face in new image leak

Earlier this year, Samsung introduced a Galaxy S10 Lite that offered a more affordable version of the Galaxy S flagships. A new leak suggests that Samsung is now planning to do the same thing with the Galaxy S20 series.

A leaked render is giving us our first look at the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. The image, shared by leaker Evan Blass, shows a device with a centered hole-punch selfie cam and a slight chin. The screen itself appears to be flat rather than having curved edges.

There's no word yet on when this Galaxy S20 FE 5G might launch or how much it'll cost when it does. However, a rumor from Galaxy Club claims to have some spec details for the device, including a 4500mAh battery, 12MP main camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera.

The Galaxy S10 Lite launched at a price of $650, and so it's possible that this Galaxy S20 FE 5G will launch with a similar price tag. That'd make this Fan Edition phone a few hundred dollars cheaper than the standard Galaxy S20, which starts at $999.99.

Samsung would likely have to make some spec changes to this Galaxy S20 FE 5G to help it get to that lower price. That could include a lower resolution display, a different processor, or less RAM. The name of the device does indicate that it will still have 5G connectivity, though, which is good for folks in the market for a lower-cost 5G smartphone.
