Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 leak shows bigger outer display

So far we've seen most of the Samsung devices that'll be announced on August 5 through leaks, but one that's managed to elude us is the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Today we can cross that one off the list, too.

An official-looking render appears to show the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, showing its updated front cover display and rear camera bump. The image shared by Ice Universe is a bit blurry, but we can still make out its features.

First up is the bigger front display. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is expected to have a much larger cover display than the original Galaxy Fold — 6.23-inch versus 4.6-inch — and this image definitely appears to show a bigger outer display with significantly reduced bezel compared to the Galaxy Fold.

We can also see a rear camera bump similar to the one on the leaked Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Rumors say that that camera bump will be home to three cameras: a 12MP main cam, 12MP ultra wide camera, and 64MP telephoto sensor.

Finally, this Galaxy Z Fold 2 is sporting the same Mystic Bronze paint job that we've seen in leaked images of the Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Buds Live.

Based on what we've heard of it so far, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is shaping up to be a solid follow-up to last year's Galaxy Fold. The bigger outer display should make it much more useful for those times you don't want to open up the main screen, but that inner display is also expected to be a bit bigger than last year's model, and that's great news since having a big main screen is one of the main draws of foldable phones.
