US Cellular's making some 5G news today.
First up, the US Cellular is now selling the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, which is its fifth 5G phone to date. Pricing is set at $19.99 per month for 30 months, but customers who port their line to US Cellular and activate a new line of service on an Unlimited Basic, Everyday, or Even Better plan can get the A71 for $8.32 per month for 30 months.
The Galaxy A71 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor. There's a quad rear camera array on the A71's backside that includes a 64MP main sensor, 12MP ultra wide cam, 5MP macro camera for close-up photos, and a 5MP depth cam. Samsung has also included a 32MP front camera for selfies.
Inside there's an octa-core Snapdragon 765 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. If you need more storage, a microSD slot is included as well. A 4500mAh battery powers the whole package, and 25W fast charging will help you more quickly refill that battery. Lastly, there's a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming an uncommon feature nowadays.
Also announced today is that US Cellular will launch 5G coverage in 11 new states over the next four months. It didn't specify which states those will be, though. US Cellular currently offers 5G in parts of Iowa and Wisconsin.
