Galaxy Note 20 Ultra specs will reportedly include Snapdragon 865+

Last month we got an early look at the design of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra thanks to some renders that made their way online. Now we're getting an even better picture of Samsung's next big thing thanks to some leaked specs.

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be powered by a Snapdragon 865+ processor, claims Samsung leaker Ice Universe. Qualcomm hasn't actually announced a new version of the Snapdragon 865 yet, but if there is such a chip in the works, it's likely that it'd have a slight performance increase over the current Snapdragon 865.

Today's leak also says that the Note 20 Ultra will have an LTPO display with QHD+ resolution and support for 120Hz refresh rate. What's more, it's expected that the Note 20 Ultra will be able to run both QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate at the same time. The regular Note 20 is said to have an FHD resolution and 60Hz refresh rate.

While the Galaxy S20 series also offers a QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, those phones can't do both at the same time. Instead, you must choose QHD+ and 60Hz or FHD+ and 120Hz. So the news that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra may support QHD+ and 120Hz at the same time is a big deal.

Also tipped to be coming to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is a "new camera function" and a "new S Pen and features", but Ice Universe doesn't go into detail about either of these features.

Finally, some more details of the design of the Note 20 Ultra have trickled out. Ice Universe says that the side bezels of the Note 20 Ultra will be 0.29mm slimmer than those on the Note 10+ and that the combined thickness of the forehead and chin has shrunk 0.4mm. The hole-punch is slimmer on the Note 20 Ultra, too, shrinking 1mm in size, while the thickness of the fuselage is 0.3mm smaller.

The Galaxy Note 10+'s bezels aren't exactly thick, but we're sure most folks won't mind having slightly slimmer bezels and a smaller hole-punch on the Note 20 Ultra. The news that it might support QHD+ and 120Hz refresh rate at the same time is sure to please a lot of folks who were frustrated at having to choose between those features on the Galaxy S20 series.

Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra at an event on August 5.
