Ever since Stadia launched, Google has sold a Premiere Edition bundle to give new users an easy way to start playing with Stadia. Today that bundle is undergoing a bit of a change.
The Stadia Premiere Edition is now being sold for $99.99, which is $30 less than the bundle previously cost. To help achieve this lower price, Google has dropped the 3-month Stadia Pro trial subscription that was previously included with the Premiere Edition.
For your $99.99, you're getting a Stadia Controller and a Chromecast Ultra so that you can play on your TV. Separately these devices cost $69 each, so you are still saving some money if you decide to buy the Premiere Edition bundle even if it's now missing the 3-month Stadia Pro trial.
Google also notes that new Stadia Pro users can get a 1-month trial for free, giving you access to several free games and discounts on select paid titles.
We've seen Google roll out a few different offers since Stadia's launch to get people to try the gaming service's Pro tier. That's included giving everyone 2 months of Stadia Pro for free, offering T-Mobile customers a 3-month trial of Stadia Pro for free, and the Stadia Premiere Edition bundle itself. By lowering the price of the Premiere Edition, Google has gotten it below the $100 barrier and is trying to entice more people to give Stadia a shot.
