Sony will show PS5 games at event on June 4

PlayStation fans, clear your schedules for next week because a PS5 event has been confirmed.

Sony will host a "The Future of Gaming" event for the PlayStation 5 on June 4 at 1:00 pm PT/4:00 pm ET. The event will run for a little more than an hour, Sony says, and it'll include a first look at the PS5 games that'll be available after the console launches this holiday season.

We'll have to wait until next Thursday to find out exactly what Sony has in store for the event, but we may have to wait a bit longer to actually see the console itself. Sony seems to be positioning this as an event focused on games, and the company says that this is "part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week's showcase, we will still have much to share with you."

Sony has spilled the specs of the PlayStation 5 and shown off its DualSense controller so far, and next week we'll be able to mark "Games" off the PS5 pre-release checklist. Based on what we've seen and heard so far, are you looking forward to the PS5?
