Remember earlier this year when Twitter said it would soon start letting you control who can reply to your tweets? Fast-forward four months and testing of that feature has begun.
Twitter is now testing settings that'll let you decide who can reply to a tweet that you post. The options include "Everyone", "People you follow" and "Only people you mention". If you choose one of the latter two settings, your tweet will be labeled as such and the reply button will be grayed out.
People who can't reply to a tweet can still view your tweet, retweet it, retweet it with a comment, and like the tweet.

This feature is still only in testing, and so for now only a limited group of people will be able to try it. The testing is going on globally and is available on iOS, Android, and Twitter.com, though, so everyone has a chance at testing it.
The ability to control who can reply to your tweets could come in handy in a few different ways. It could help to fight online bullying by preventing trolls from replying to your tweets, or it could be useful for holding a sort of Twitter roundtable discussion with a select group of participants.
