Google helping retailers promote curbside pickup in local inventory ads

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many retailers have begun offering curbside pickup for a safer shopping experience. Now Google is helping retailers to highlight their curbside pickup service to consumers.

Google's local inventory ads can now display the curbside pickup optio for local stores that offer it. When a consumer is searching for a particular product, retailers have the ability to display a "Curbside Pickup" badge right in their local inventory ad, letting consumers know that they can buy that particular product using curbside pickup service.

This curbside pickup badge for local inventory ads is now in beta and is available to advertisers who have completed Google's onboarding for store pickup. Retailers interested in adding the badge can contact their account team or complete this form.

The badge is available in Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US.

Google also notes that even if you aren't running local inventory ads, you can still let consumers know if your store offers curbside pickup, delivery, and in-store shopping by editing the attributes of your Business Profile that appears in Search and Maps.

Curbside pickup is a great option for retailers and consumers right now because it allows retailers to continue selling products while consumers can buy what they need without having to actually go into a store, which can help to fight the spread of the coronavirus. Now this curbside pickup badge for Google's local inventory ads can make it easy for consumers to see which products are available with curbside pickup service and make their purchase decision that way.
