One month after Samsung ended security updates for the Galaxy S7, it's dropped another former flagship from monthly to quarterly updates.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will now receive quarterly security updates rather than getting them monthly. Samsung didn't make an official statement about this, but its Android Security Updates webpage has been updated to reflect the change (via Droid-Life).
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are now three years old, so this move to quarterly security updates doesn't come as a huge surprise. Samsung typically gives its flagships two years of OS updates and three years of monthly security updates. Now Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners will likely get quarterly security updates for a year or so.
Are you rocking a Galaxy S8 or S8+ three years after their launch? If so, how's your S8 working for you?
