Verizon extends commitment to not disconnect customers impacted by coronavirus

Back in mid-March Verizon took the FCC's Keep Americans Connected pledge, committing to waive late fees and not disconnect customers who are unable to pay their bill due to the coronavirus pandemic. That original commitment was for 60 days but that period is coming to an end soon, so Verizon today said it's extending that commitment.

Verizon today confirmed that it is committing to keeping customers connected through June 30th. That means that it will not terminate service nor charge late fees to postpaid wireless, residential, and small business customers who notify Verizon that they're unable to pay their bills due to COVID-19.

If your ability to pay your bill has been impacted by the coronavirus outbreak, you can notify Verizon right here.

As people continue to deal with the pandemic and shelter at home, there are likely even more folks who are having problems with paying their cellphone bill than when Verizon first took the Keep Americans Connected pledge. With that original 60-day commitment coming to an end soon, it's good to see the carrier extending its commitment through the end of June to ensure affected customers can stay connected to their loved ones and the world around them.
