Just one day after the new Moto G Power went up for pre-order, Motorola has taken the wraps off of a new, more affordable version of the device.
The Moto G8 Power Lite features the same massive 5000mAh battery as the non-Lite Moto G Power, and Motorola touts that it'll let you go for more than 2 days on a single charge. This Lite smartphone also features a 6.5-inch 1600x720 display, which is slightly larger than the regular Moto G Power's screen.
Motorola swapped the Snapdragon 665 processor found in the Moto G Power for an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 chipset in the Moto G8 Power Lite and included 64GB of storage, half that of the regular G Power. The Moto G8 Power Lite does have a microSD card slot if you'd like more storage, though, and it's got the same 4GB of RAM as its non-Lite sibling.
Also packed into the Moto G8 Power Lite's water repellent shell is a triple rear camera setup with a 16MP main sensor with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF plus a 2MP depth sensor for portrait mode shots and a 2MP macro cam for close-ups. HDR and beauty modes are supported, too. And around front, there's an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture in a waterdrop notch.
Rounding out the Moto G8 Power Lite's feature list is support for 10W fast charging, a microUSB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Android 9 Pie, and custom Motorola actions, like twisting your wrist to quickly open the camera or performing a chopping motion twice to turn on the flashlight.
The Moto G8 Power Lite is launching in Germany at a price of €169 ($183 USD) and it'll also launch in Mexico in the coming days. Motorola is planning releases in other countries in Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Australia in the coming weeks.
