Apple's oft-rumored low-cost iPhone could finally be launching soon.
A case for the "New iPhone 4.7", 2020" has appeared at least one Best Buy location. The photo, snapped by a Best Buy employee and sent to MacRumors, shows a case made by Urban Armor Gear that features a pill-shaped rear camera cutout, similar to the one on iPhone 8 cases.
The source of this photo says that Best Buy employees have been told not to put these cases onto shelves until Sunday, April 5th.
It might seem kind of strange that this case is listed as being designed for "New iPhone 4.7", 2020" rather than an actual product name, but it's makes sense that that's what it says. Urban Armor Gear wants its case to be one of the first on shelves when Apple launches its new iPhone, but since the device hasn't actually been announced yet, no one knows what the product is going to be called.
Rumors say that Apple is working on a follow-up to the iPhone SE that launched in 2016. This new phone will purportedly be known as either the iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2, and it's said that it'll have the internals of an iPhone 11 including a new A13 Bionic processor, but with the design of an iPhone 8. That includes a Touch ID fingerprint reader, physical Home button, and 4.7-inch display.
It's not known when Apple might announce its new low-cost iPhone, but the fact that cases for it are starting to show up at retailers suggest that a launch could be imminent. Whenever it does arrive, rumors have said that this new iPhone could be priced at $399.
