Samsung is one of the only Android device makers regularly releasing new tablets, and today it's unleashing its newest model.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.4-inch (2020) is meant to be an affordable Android tablet that you can use around the house but is also small enough to take out with you. As its name implies, it's got an 8.4-inch display that uses LCD tech and has a resolution of 1920x1200. The new Tab A also boasts stereo speakers to make watching videos better.

An 8MP rear camera on the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) is available for your tablet photography needs, and there's a 5MP selfie cam that you can use for video calling.

The body of the new Galaxy Tab A features a premium, metal design that weighs 0.7 pounds (320 grams). Inside that shell is an octa-core Exynos 7904 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. There's also a microSD card slot that'll let you add up to 512GB of additional storage for photos, videos, games, and more.

Samsung has packed a 5000mAh battery into the new Tab A that's estimated to last 10 hours of use on a single charge. Fast charging over USB-C is also available when it's time to refill that battery.

Other notable features of the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) include a 3.5mm headphone jack, Android 9.0, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, and built-in 4G LTE connectivity.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020) will launch at AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular in the coming weeks. A Verizon model is now available from Samsung.com for $279.99.
