We've already seen several carriers take extra steps to ensure their customers stay connected during the coronavirus outbreak, like all four major US operators pledging to waive late fees and T-Mobile giving all its subscribers unlimited data. Now Mint Mobile has revealed how it's helping its customers during the pandemic.
Mint Mobile is giving all of its customers free unlimited data through April 14th. This offer is available to both existing and new Mint Mobile customers.
You will have to take it upon yourself to claim your extra data. To do so, you must get the latest version of the Mint Mobile app (Android, iOS), tap "Account", then select "Buy more data". Then select the 3GB data increment, which normally costs $20.
Your credit card will be charged for this data, but Mint Mobile will then refund the cost within 24 hours. Bank cards typically take a bit longer to process these refunds.
You'll be able to add as many 3GB allotments as you need through April 14th. One thing to keep in mind is that you have to use 95% of a data allotment before you can add another, so you can't just buy a bunch of data add-ons at once and get them all refunded in bulk.
While this all will take a bit of extra work on your end, ultimately you will be getting free unlimited data for the next month. It's a nice gesture from Mint Mobile during the outbreak, helping customers to stay connected without worrying about how much data they're using or having to pay for more data.
