One of the most popular video games of all time has launched on mobile today.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is now available on Android and iOS. The game is priced at $2.99 and doesn't appear to include any in-app purchases.
While the game includes touch controls, full game controller support is also included as well, so you should be able to connect your phone to a PS4 or Xbox controller if you prefer physical controls. There's a new continue feature included in this version of Symphony of the Night, too, and you can unlock achievements while playing.
Symphony of the Night is one of the most highly-regarded video games of all time. Castlevania is a series that tasks you with traversing a castle, battling monsters, and eventually defeating Dracula. Symphony of the Night is a side-scrolling action game that was the first in the series to focus on non-linear exploration and RPG elements.
The game was originally released on the PlayStation 1 in 1997 and was re-released on consoles like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4. As noted by Twitter user Nibel, this mobile version of Symphony of the Night appears to be based on the version that was released on the PS4 and PSP.
Developer Konami hadn't previously said anything about bringing Symphony of the Night to Android and iOS, so today's release is a nice surprise. What's even better is that it includes controller support and that it's priced in a way that makes it pretty cheap for anyone to experience one of the most popular games of all time.
