Mobvoi is updated its TicWatch Pro for 2020.
One of the major upgrades of the TicWatch Pro 2020 is its 1GB of RAM, which is double that of the TicWatch Pro. Mobvoi touts that this RAM increase will result in a "noticeable performance boost and increased responsiveness" as well as more accurate health, sleep, and fitness tracking.
Mobvoi has also added MIL-STD-810G durability to the TicWatch Pro 2020, allowing it to withstand extreme temperatures, shock, dust, and water. Plus, the watch features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, adding to its toughness.
The display on the TicWatch Pro 2020 is a 1.39-inch 400x400 AMOLED screen that's covered with Gorilla Glass 3. It's also got a low-power LCD screen that you can activate when you need to extend your battery life. The battery in the watch is a 415mAh pack that Mobvoi estimates will get you between 2 and 30 days.
Also inside the TicWatch Pro 2020 is a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 4GB of RAM, and NFC for Google Pay. There's a PPG heart rate sensor to help track your workouts, too, plus a low latency off-body sensor. Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi are included as well, as is GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and Galileo.
Of course, the case of the watch is important, too, because you want something that's durable and will look good on your wrist. The TicWatch Pro 2020's case is made of polyamide and glass fiber with a stainless steel bezel, and it supports 22mm interchangeable straps.
The Wear OS-powered TicWatch Pro 2020 is available starting today in the UK at a price of £222.99, and you can buy it directly from Mobvoi or from Amazon. Folks in the US will be able to buy the TicWatch Pro 2020 for $259.99 from Mobvoi and Amazon starting in early March.
While the TicWatch Pro 2020 does share some specs with its predecessor, like the display and processor, Mobvoi has made some noteworthy upgrades like the toughened body and doubled RAM. We're looking forward to strapping the TicWatch Pro 2020 onto our wrist and seeing exactly how improved its performance is with that added RAM.
