Xiaomi's Mi 10 series is now official, and the new flagships are loaded up with high-end specs.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro share many of the same features. They've both got 5G and both have a 6.67-inch 2340x1080 AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensor. Those displays have curved edges and a 20MP hole-punch selfie camera.
Around back, both phones have quad camera setups that include a 108MP main cam with a 1/1.33” large sensor. The main camera has OIS and EIS for stable video capture, and it can record in up to 8K resolution.
The other three cameras are a bit different on the two phones. The Mi 10 Pro (above) is packing a 12MP portrait cam with 2x optical zoom, an 8MP telephoto sensor with 10x hybrid zoom, and a 20MP ultra-wide camera. Meanwhile, the Mi 10 (below) is equipped with a 13MP ultra wide camera with 123-degree field of view, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro cam.
Camera testing group DxOMark announced today that the Mi 10 Pro earned a camera score of 124, making it the new top smartphone camera in its rankings.
Both the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are packing Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 865 processor. They've got 8GB and 12GB RAM options and the Mi 10 comes with your choice of 128GB or 256GB of storage, while the Mi 10 Pro is available with 256GB or 512GB of storage.
Two other differences between the Mi 10 phones have to do with their batteries. The Mi 10 has a larger 4780mAh battery while the Mi 10 Pro has a 4500mAh battery. The Mi 10 Pro offers faster quick charging, though, supporting up to 50W wired fast charge that'll get you from 0 to 100% in 45 minutes. The Mi 10 supports up to 30W wired fast charging.
Both phones offer up to 30W wireless fast charging and up to 10W reverse charging, too, letting you use the Mi 10 or Mi 10 Pro to charge other devices that need some power.
The Mi 10 series will launch first in China, but Xiaomi says that it plans to host a European launch event for its new phones soon. An event was originally planned for MWC later this month, but that conference has been canceled due to concerns about the coronavirus.
Pricing for the Mi 10 starts at 3999 yuan ($573 USD) for the 8GB/128GB model and goes up to 4299 yuan ($616 USD) for 8GB/256GB and 4699 yuan ($673 USD) for the 12GB/256GB version. Meanwhile, the Mi 10 Pro starts at 4999 yuan ($716 USD) for the 8GB/256GB flavor and goes up to 5499 yuan ($788 USD) for 12GB/256GB and ($860 USD) for the top-end 12GB/512GB model.
