Now that we're midway through November and the holidays are fast approaching, most folks aren't expecting any tech events for the remainder of the year. Turns out that Apple has one more thing planned for 2019, though.
Apple today sent out invitations for an event on December 2nd. As noted by Lifewire's Lance Ulanoff, it's taking place in New York City and Apple says it'll be "honoring our favorite apps and games of 2019" at the event.

This event comes as a bit of a surprise because many people figured we were done with big tech gatherings. That's because we're getting so close to the holidays and the big shopping season, and if a company wants its new product to be a big holiday gift, it needs to have time to put it on shelves and in front of holiday shoppers.
Because of the timing of this event and the fact that Apple says it'll be focused on "honoring" apps and games, it doesn't seem likely that there will be any new Apple hardware revealed on December 2nd. You never know what could happen in the world of tech, though, so we'll definitely be watching for any big news from Apple at this event.
