Google's Wear OS gets an improved Play Store

Wear OS hasn't gotten a ton of love from Google lately, but this week the smartwatch OS is receiving an improved Play Store.

Google is pushing an updated Play Store for Wear OS that brings with it a better layout. Several Wear OS users on Reddit have received the update, reporting changes like the removal of the top drawer and those options now moving to the bottom of the Play Store screen.

Other notable changes include moving the "Apps on your phone" section to its own submenu and a renaming of the "My Apps" screen to "Apps on your watch".

You can see screenshots of the new Play Store for Wear OS above, and below are screenshots of Wear OS's old Play Store for comparison.

Overall this updated Play Store looks to be cleaner, more uniform, and easier to use. It may not seem like a huge update, but it's a welcome improvement for Wear OS, which is a platform that Google hasn't exactly been updating at a rapid pace lately. If you've got a Wear OS smartwatch, be on the lookout for this new and improved Play Store.
