Apple urging iPhone 5 owners to update to iOS 10.3.4 within the coming days

If you're still rocking an iPhone 5, you may want to check and make sure that your phone is running iOS 10.3.4.

Apple is now reminding iPhone 5 owners to update to iOS 10.3.4 before November 3rd (via MacRumors). If they don't, they could lose features related to the Apple Store, iCloud, email, and web browsing.

The issue here is related to a GPS time rollover issue. The problem began affecting GPS-enabled devices from other manufacturers on April 6, 2019, but Apple devices won't be impacted until just before 12:00 am UTC on November 3, 2019.

If you've got an iPhone 5, you can go into Settings > General > About and look for "Software Version" to see which software you're running. If it's not iOS 10.3.4,  then you can go into Settings > General > Software Update to get your update.

Features like the App Store and iCloud are pretty important for an iPhone, so if you've got an iPhone 5, you should take a second now and double-check that you're running iOS 10.3.4. If you're not on it by November 3rd, you'll have to back up and restore using a computer to update, which is way more of a hassle than just updating over the air right now.
