Google Maps adds more incident reports on Android as the feature arrives on iPhone

One of the nice features of Waze is that it lets users report incidents that might affect their trip, like a speed trap or accident, so that other users can be aware of and plan for them. Now Google is bringing similar features to Google Maps.

First up, Google Maps for iPhone is gaining the ability for users to report crashes, speed traps, and traffic slowdowns. These features are already available on Android, and now iPhone users will be able to benefit from them, too.

Also rolling out is the ability to report four new types of incidents: construction, lane closures, disabled vehicles, and objects (like debris) on the road. These are more issues that could slow down your trip when you're trying to get somewhere, and so it's nice to see Google expand Maps' incident reporting feature to keep drivers in the know.

Both of these features will begin rolling out globally on Android and iPhone this week.
