A new month means new Android security updates, and today's the day that Google has unleashed its security patches for October 2019.
Google today released the October 2019 security update for Android, and it should begin rolling out to Pixel devices today. It's available for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, and Pixel and Pixel XL.
As usual, Google is offering factory images of this new update if you'd prefer to install it that way, as well as OTA images.
Included in the 2019-10-01 security patch level are fixes for vulnerabilities related to the Framework, Media framework, and System, and there are Google Play system updates, too. The 2019-10-05 security patch level adds fixes for vulnerabilities related to a Kernel component, Qualcomm components, and Qualcomm closed source components.
