Today Amazon held its big event in Seattle, and as expected, there were new Echo devices galore.
The new Amazon Echo Dot with Clock features a design that's similar to the previous model, complete with a fabric covering, but it adds a clock to the front of the unit. Using LEDs, the Echo Dot with Clock can show you the time as well as the temperature or alarm times.
Amazon's new Echo Dot with Clock is available for pre-order today for $59.99.
Moving up the line is the new Amazon Echo. This is Amazon's flagship smart speaker, and the new model has a slightly tweaked design with a rounded top and bottom. The fabric cover found on the previous model is included here, too.
The new Echo gains the same audio architecture as Amazon's premium Echo Plus speaker, which includes neodymium drivers, a 3-inch woofer, and increased back volume so that the bass feels stronger and the mids and highs are clearer.
The updated Amazon Echo is available in Charcoal, Sandstone, and Heather Gray colors as well as a new Twilight Blue hue. Pre-orders begin today and pricing is set at $99.99, just like the previous Echo.
Today also brought the debut of the Echo Studio (image via The Verge). This new high-end smart speaker includes left, right, and top mid-range speakers that help to pump out a directional sound. There's also a directional tweeter for high-end performance and a 5.25-inch bass driver with a bass port.
Like the other new Echo speakers, the Echo Studio is available for pre-order starting today. It's priced at $199.99.
It's not only smart speakers being announced at today's event, as Amazon also took the wraps off of the Echo Show 8 smart display. This model slots directly in the middle of Amazon's Echo Show lineup, between the 5.5-inch screen of the Echo Show 5 and the 10-inch display of the Echo Show.
The Echo Show 8 comes with an 8-inch HD display and borrows the audio from the 10-inch Echo Show. It's got a camera for video chat, and it'll be available for pre-order today for $129.99.
A brand new addition to the Echo family is the Echo Glow. This multi-color smart lamp can gradually dim when it gets close to bedtime, change through multiple colors, and more. It'll be available for pre-order in the U.S. today for $29.99.
The Echo Flex is another new style of Echo device. It's a small device that plugs directly into your wall outlet and has a small speaker for talking to Alexa. There's a USB charging port so you can charge your phone, but that port can also be used for accessories. Amazon is prepping a motion sensor and a smart nightlight add-on for the Echo Flex.
Amazon says that the Echo Flex is available for pre-order starting today. The main unit will be priced at $24.99, and each accessory will cost $14.99.
