Google Play Pass launches with 350 apps and games, limited time $1.99 per month price

Google wasn't kidding when it said that Play Pass was coming soon.

Google Play Pass is launching today. The subscription service will get you access to more than 350 games and apps that have no ads and no in-app purchases. Pricing is normally set at $4.99 per month, but customers who subscribe before October 10 can get 12 months of Play Pass for just $1.99 per month. A 10-day free trial is also available.

A subscription to Google Play Pass can be shared with up to five other family members. The service is rolling out in the U.S. this week and will expand to more countries soon. To access Play Pass, you'll need a device running Android 4.4 and up with Play Store version 16.6.25 or higher.

To access Play Pass, launch your Google Play Store app, tap the three-line Menu button, and select "Play Pass".

There are several high-profile games included with Play Pass at launch, such as Stardew Valley, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Terraria, Monument Valley, and Risk, as well as handy utility apps like Accuweather. Plus, Google says that it will add new apps to Play Pass every month, so you'll regularly have new apps and games to check out.

There are lots of high-quality apps and games available on Android, but it can be tough to pony up the cash to pay for them all. That's where Google Play Pass comes in, getting you access to hundreds of apps and games for one monthly price. Plus, there are no ads or in-app purchases to distract you from your experience using the app.

At launch, there seems to be a pretty solid selection of apps and games included with Google Play Pass, including lots of really well-known titles. And with that limited time price of just $1.99 per month, Play Pass seems like a no-brainer if you're at all interested in playing games on the go with your Android device.
