The Sonos Move is the first portable, battery-powered speaker from Sonos. It's got a handle and Bluetooth support so you can play tunes from your phone when you're outside of the house, and the battery is rated to get you 10 hours of continuous play time with a single charge. Sonos has also made a charging base that makes it easy to recharge that battery.
Sonos speakers are known for their Trueplay technology that tunes the speaker to the environment its in. Normally this is a process that you perform manually, but the Sonos Move comes with automatic Trueplay that enables the speaker to tune itself for whatever environment that it's in.
Also of note is that the Sonos Move includes an IP56 rating and a tough exterior so you don't have to worry about it getting wet or knocked over when it's outside.
When you're on Wi-Fi, the Sonos Move lets you use Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa to stream music, control smart home devices, ask questions, and more. There are more than 100 streaming services supported by Sonos, and AirPlay 2 for Apple devices is included as well.
Sonos Move will launch on September 24 for $399.
Also announced today is the Sonos One SL. This smart speaker is similar to the Sonos One, but it doesn't have any built-in microphones. This means that you can't use the voice controls with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa that are on the Sonos One, but you can still use the Sonos app, Apple AirPlay 2, or music service apps to stream music on the Sonos One SL.
The Sonos One SL will launch on September 12 for $179.
Finally, the Sonos Port allows you to add Sonos streaming to a regular stereo or receiver. It's got an updated digital-to-analog converter and 12V trigger that'll automatically turn on an amplifier when signaled from the Sonos app. You can control content with AirPlay 2 or use voice controls with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant when you're wirelessly connected with smart devices.
The Sonos Port will cost $399. It'll be available in limited quantities starting on September 12, with broad global availability coming in January 2020.
