Android 10 update hitting Essential Phone today, too

Essential is one of the fastest companies when it comes to pushing out Android security updates, and it looks like that speed extends to major Android OS updates, too.

The Essential Phone is now receiving its Android 10 update, the same day as Google's own Pixel phones. The update is build QP1A.190711.107 and is rolling out to Open Market users.

Included in this update are all of the features that you'd expect from the move to Android 10. There's Google's new gesture navigation, Smart Reply, a system-wide dark mode, security and privacy improvements, new emoji, and more. You can find more info on Android 10's new features right here.

Not only does Essential often pushes out security updates to the Essential Phone on the same day that Google Pixel phones get them, but the Essential Phone was also part of the Android Q beta, so it's not a huge surprise to see the Essential Phone getting Android 10 today. That doesn't make it any less awesome to see, though, and we're sure that many Essential Phone owners are excited to get Android 10 before most other Android users.
