Razer Phone 2 owners have been enjoying Android Pie for months now, but anyone using the original Razer Phone is still waiting for Pie. Thankfully, that wait will soon be over.
Razer has confirmed that it will release an Android Pie update for the original Razer Phone "in coming weeks." (via Droid-Life) The update will also include unspecified Android security patches.
This is big news for anyone using a Razer Phone, and not just because it means that their slice of Android Pie is near. The original Razer Phone hasn't received an update since September 2018 when it received the July 2018 Android security patches. That's kind of a bummer considering the Razer Phone is a flagship smartphone that's less than two years old. At least now Razer Phone owners know that their Android Pie update is coming and that it'll bring with it some recent security patches.
