Last month, we got an early look at the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 thanks to some hands-on photos. Now the unannounced wearable has popped up again.
An official render of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 has leaked out. The image gives us a clear look at Samsung's next smartwatch, which features a design similar to the original Galaxy Watch Active that launched just five months ago.
Included with the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is a round screen and a pair of buttons on the side of the case, with the home/power button showing a red ring around it. As with the first Galaxy Watch Active, there's no rotating bezel to be found on the new model. Android Headlines notes that ECG and fall detection are also expected to be included in the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
Rounding out the Galaxy Watch Active 2's rumored feature set are Wi-Fi-only and LTE variants as well as 40mm and 44mm sizes. The smaller 40mm watch will reportedly have a 237mAh battery while the larger 44mm model is expected to come with a 340mAh battery.
One thing we don't know is when the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will officially launch. Samsung is hosting an event for the Galaxy Note 10 on August 7th, and IFA 2019 is taking place in September, so those are both options. While they both seem awfully early for Samsung to introduce a follow-up to the smartwatch that it launched five months ago, the fact that we're seeing official renders of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 do suggest that an announcement could be close.
