If you've been having trouble loading images on Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp today, you're not alone.
Facebook has confirmed that users are having problems uploading images, videos, and other files in its apps. The outage has been affecting Facebook's various apps for most of July 3rd, including Facebook itself, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We're sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #facebookdown

If the outage is affecting you, you'll see descriptions on the images that are missing on Facebook and Instagram like in the image below. Facebook uses machine learning to determine what's in a photo, which helps people with vision impairments to know what is in the image.
Facebook hasn't given an estimate as to when the outage will be fixed, so for now you'll just have to continue using Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp without any images or go outside and enjoy your Wednesday/day before July 4th.
