One month after iOS 13 was first announced, Apple has released another beta for its big update.
iOS 13 beta 3 is now available for registered developers. An update for iPadOS is also available. If you've registered with Apple as a dev, you can download the update over the air by going into Settings > General > Software Update on your iOS device, or you can point your computer's browser to the Apple Developer Center and download the update that way.
There's no new iOS 13 public beta update available as of this post, but we could see one soon. iOS 13 will launch this fall.
The update to iOS 13 brings with it a number of major changes. There's a dark mode, swiping support in the Apple keyboard, a much-improved Apple Maps, Sign In with Apple as a way to sign in to apps and websites while better protecting your privacy, a new photo editing interface, and an improved Share Sheet. There's a new, less intrusive volume indicator, too, along with a refreshed version of CarPlay.
iPadOS adds many iPad-specific features on top of iOS 13. There's an improved home screen that lets you see more apps on a single page, the ability to run multiple instances of the same app side-by-side, and support for keeping your Today View widgets on your home screen. The Files app is getting improved, too, with support for USB drives and SD cards.
Apple today also released watchOS 6 beta 3 to developers. The update to watchOS 6 will launch this fall and includes a dedicated App Store and independent app support, meaning you won't need an iPhone to install apps onto your Apple Watch. There are also new Apple apps for watchOS, like Voice Memos and a calculator, and some new watch faces as well.
