Another company is taking a step away from Huawei following the recent U.S. ban against Huawei.

Facebook is no longer allowing Huawei to pre-install its apps on Huawei smartphones. This includes the main Facebook app as well as WhatsApp and Instagram. Owners of existing Huawei phones can still use Facebook apps, the company told Reuters, but new Huawei phones will not have any Facebook apps preinstalled.

While people who buy new Huawei devices without Facebook's apps preinstalled will still be able to download them from the Play Store, Huawei probably isn't thrilled about another major company suspending a deal like this as a result of the recent U.S. ban.

In other Huawei news, Google is reportedly concerned that the U.S. ban against Huawei could result in increased security risks. A report from the Financial Times says that Google executives feel that if Huawei doesn't have access to Android security updates, the company could try to make its own software that could be more susceptible to being hacked.

Companies working with Huawei have been given a 90-day window to adjust to the U.S. ban against Huawei, but Google is reportedly asking for an extension or to be excused from the ban.

Google provided a statement to Engadget following this report, saying, "Like other US companies, we're engaging with the Department of Commerce to ensure we're in full compliance with its requirements and temporary license. Our focus is protecting the security of Google users on the millions of existing Huawei handsets in the US and around the world."
