We're now less than one week away from the start of WWDC 2019, where we're expecting to get the first official details of iOS 13. Before then, though, the rumor mill has another major leak for us.
Screenshots that show off some of iOS 13's new features have been leaked by 9to5Mac. In the screens above, you can see Dark Mode on iOS 13, which give the OS a dark background rather than the light one that we're used to. There's a true black background in the music app with Dark Mode enabled that could help to conserve battery life on iPhone models with OLED screens.
iOS 13 also updates the UI when you take a screenshot, giving you a blurred version of your wallpaper in the background and more realistic annotation tools at the bottom of the screen. On iPad, these tools can be dragged around the screen to be placed where you prefer it.
Today's leak also gives us an early look at the new Reminders app. On the iPad, Reminders has a sidebar with "Today", "Scheduled", "All", and "Flagged" boxes. We also know that Apple is merging the Find My Friends and Find My iPhone apps in iOS 13, combining them into a single Find My app that shows you a large map with one small window for your friends and family and another for your devices.
Other features that are rumored to be coming with iOS 13 a new and less-obtrusive volume HUD, iPad multitasking improvements like the ability for apps to have multiple inwodws, and an improved Mail app. Apple is expected to give us our first look at iOS 13 at WWDC next week, and we'll likely see several beta versions released followed by a public launch in the fall.
