BLU Products is known for offering Android smartphones at aggressive prices, and today the company unleashed its latest low-cost Android offering.
The BLU G9 is now available from Amazon. It's sold unlocked and is compatible with GSM networks like AT&T, T-Mobile, Cricket, and Metro by T-Mobile in the U.S. Amazon says the BLU G9 will begin shipping on May 27th.
The front of the BLU G9 features a 6.3-inch 1520x720 display with a small chin and waterdrop notch, giving you an 89 percent screen-to-body ratio. Living inside that notch is a 13MP selfie camera, and BLU has packed some special selfie features into the G9's software like face beautification, panorama selfie, and group selfie mode to help you step up your selfie game.
Around back there's a dual camera setup that includes a 13MP camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and a Portrait Mode that utilizes the 2MP depth camera to give you photos with bokeh. BLU also touts its 52 Megapixel Super Zoom feature that takes each pixel of your photo and boosts it four times, which the company says "[maximizes] the clarity and detail of every single picture."
Inside the BLU G9 is another one of its major features: its battery. There's a whopping 4000mAh battery inside this phone's 8mm-thick body, and thanks to its fast charging support, you can go from a 0 percent charge to 50 percent in 45 minutes.
BLU has also packed a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor inside the G9 along with 4GB of RAM, dual SIM slots, 64GB of storage, and a microSD slot that'll let you add another 128GB of storage. A fingerprint reader around back can help to keep your phone secure, and on the software side, BLU has loaded the G9 with Android 9.0 Pie.
With the G9, BLU has taken some of the features that are trendy in smartphones lately — like the smaller waterdrop notch and the multi-rear camera setup — and packed them into an affordable Android device. And then there's the 4000mAh battery, which is bigger than some flagship smartphones on the market, which helps to make the BLU G9 worth a look if battery life and price are two important factors for you when shopping for a new phone.
