Last year, T-Mobile became the first U.S. carrier to sell a OnePlus phone. Now it looks like the other three major U.S. providers may be getting OnePlus hardware, too.
OnePlus has job openings for a "Senior Technical Account Manager" for AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. That's notable because those are the three carriers that don't currently offer OnePlus phones. According to the site, this job involves serving as the primary contact for carrier-related product engineering, coordinating with carriers and supervising the product approval process, and working closely with carrier-related engineering and internal R&D teams on a daily basis.
"We are looking for a Senior Technical Account Manager with a deep understanding of carrier product development," OnePlus explains. "The individual should have experience with the overall carrier product approval process, including technical acceptance management, carrier requirement comprehension, 3rd party lab coordination, and device validation management. The individual should be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment."
With the OnePlus 7 rumored to be announced in less than one month, these job openings don't necessarily mean that the OP7 will be sold by AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon since the phone's release is so close. These job openings do suggest that OnePlus does want to work with those three carriers, though, and it's possible that future OnePlus hardware will appear on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon's shelves.
OnePlus has steadily been growing in the five years since it launched the OnePlus One, and the launch of the OnePlus 6T on T-Mobile helped to give OnePlus another boost by exposing its phone to more consumers. Many people in the U.S. prefer to buy their phones from their carrier, and so launching a phone on Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint would be big for OnePlus because it would expose many consumers to OnePlus for the first time.
