Call of Duty: Mobile is a free-to-play game coming to Android and iOS

Call of Duty is one of the most popular franchises in gaming, and today it was confirmed that there's a new CoD game coming to mobile.

Call of Duty: Mobile is a new free-to-play game coming to Android and iOS. A trailer for the game teases that it'll include "signature multiplayer" and the ability to play with your friends on popular maps like Nuketown and Crash. The announcement touts that Call of Duty: Mobile will include classic maps and modes from Call of Duty: Black Ops and the original Modern Warfare series. A Ranked Mode and Clan support is planned, too.

In addition to being free-to-play, Call of Duty: Mobile will include free updates. Players will be able to earn and unlock characters, weapons, outfits, scorestreaks, and gear from the Call of Duty series that you'll then be able to customize your character with.

Folks who are interested in Call of Duty: Mobile will get the chance to play pre-launch betas to help optimize and fine-tune the game. If you're interested, you can pre-register for the Android version of the game in Google Play.

Looking ahead, a "unique Call of Duty Battle Royale experience" is in the works as well.

We saw a Call of Duty game for mobile phones launch in China last year, and so it's exciting to see the popular FPS coming to smartphones in North America, South America, and Europe, too. We've seen several popular franchises make the jump from PCs and consoles to smartphones in recent years, including Minecraft, PUBG, and Fortnite, and it's good to see Call of Duty doing the same.

Will you check out Call of Duty: Mobile when it launches on Android and iOS?
