Motorola's Moto G devices are regularly praised as some of the best affordable smartphones on the market, and today Motorola introduced its new Moto G7 family of devices.
There are actually four devices in the Moto G7 series: the Moto G7, the Moto G7 Plus, the Moto G7 Power, and the Moto G7 Play. Each model has slightly different specs, so let's take a look at what each of the new Moto G7 models has to offer.
The Moto G7 features a 6.2-inch 2270x1080 display with at teardrop notch that houses an 8MP camera. Around back there's a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP main camera and 5MP depth sensor to create portrait mode shots. Motorola has also included a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 632 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and a 3000mAh battery, all in a package with a water repellent design. This Android 9 Pie phone also includes Moto Face Unlock and a rear fingerprint reader.
The Moto G7 Plus also has a 6.2-inch 2270x1080 screen with teardrop notch. This notch is home to a 12MP selfie camera, though, and around back there's a 16MP main camera and 5MP depth sensor. The processor on the Plus has been upgraded to a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor, which is paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. There's a 3000mAh battery in here, too, along with face unlock, a fingerprint reader, and Android 9 Pie, all in a case with a water repellent design.
The highlight of the Moto G7 Power is its battery, which is a massive 5000mAh battery that will last up to three days on a single charge. Along with that huge battery, the Moto G7 Power boasts a 6.2-inch 1570x720 display with a notch that's a bit larger than the Moto G7. There's a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 632 processor inside the Moto G7 Power, too, as well as 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 12MP rear camer and an 8MP front camera. Rounding things out is Android 9 Pie, face unlock, a fingerprint reader, and a water repellent coating.
Finally, the Moto G7 Play is the smallest member of the Moto G7 family, boasting a 5.7-inch 1512x720 screen. It's also got a 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 632 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. Motorola has included face unlock support and a fingerprint reader for added security, too. There's Android 9 Pie, a 3000mAh battery, and a water repellent coating, too, as well as a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera.
When it comes to availability, the Moto G7 will launch in Europe in mid-February and will roll out to Asia Pacific, Latin America, and North America in the following month for $299 USD. The Moto G7 Plus is launching today in Brazil and Mexico and will arrive in Europe in mid-February, followed by rollouts in Australia and more Latin American countries. Pricing will be set at €299.99 EUR ($340 USD).
