Now that the OnePlus 6T been out for a couple of months, lots of folks are wondering what's next for OnePlus. Today that next device may have leaked out.
A new photo has emerged that claims to show the OnePlus 7. The mystery device has been photographed next to a OnePlus 6T, and both phones are sitting inside cases that hide most of their bodies. What's notable about the possible OnePlus 7 is that unlike the OnePlus 6 and 6T before it, there's no notch at the top of its display.
So if there's no notch, where's the front-facing camera? Considering that we don't see any front camera on the device as well as the fact that there's a round cutout in the case above the screen, it's possible that the OnePlus 7 will adopt a slider form factor. There's another cutout in this case above the display that could be used where some sensors are stored.
Another notable thing about this mystery phone is that it appears to have an alert slider on its right side, above the power button. That's the same place that the OnePlus 6T's alert slider is at, though it's black while the OnePlus 7's is red. The OnePlus 7 also appears to have earpiece holes that are similar to the OnePlus 6T.
While still very much unconfirmed, it's possible that OnePlus will move to a slider form factor for its next phone. The move from the OnePlus 6 to the OnePlus 6T brought a smaller notch, and so with the OnePlus 7, OnePlus may want to move to a new form factor and eliminate the notch altogether. It's also worth mentioning that Oppo has released a slider phone, and because they share the same parent company, Oppo and OnePlus sometimes share designs and features.
What do you think of this leaked photo? Would you like to see the OnePlus 7 use a slider form factor?
