The past couple of years have seen Apple launch three new iPhone models for consumers to choose from, and a new report says that that'll continue in 2019.
Apple will release three new iPhones this fall, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. The highest-end version is expected to include a triple rear camera setup, which lines up with a leaked render that we saw earlier this week. The other two models will reportedly have dual rear cameras.
One of these three phones is expected to be a follow-up to the iPhone XR, complete with an LCD screen. The iPhone XR only has a single rear camera, though, so today's report suggests that the XR's successor could be upgraded to a dual rear camera setup.
Details on Apple's 2019 iPhone models are still light, but some renders that surfaced earlier this week showed a model with three rear cameras in a zig-zag pattern. Apple's iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have two rear cameras, one wide angle and one telephoto with 2x optical zoom, so it's unclear what the third camera on this upcoming model could be.
Looking ahead to 2020, it's said that Apple may drop the LCD-equipped model. Those plans are subject to change, though, because planning for the 2020 iPhone models is still in the early stages.
