Motorola's Moto Z series of phones has been a major focus for the company in recent years, serving as the platform for its Moto Mod accessories. And now details on an upcoming Moto Z family device have surfaced.
New renders that claim to show the Moto Z4 Play have made their way online. One thing to keep in mind is that these renders are based on factory CADs and are now official Motorola images.
According to the renders, the Moto Z4 Play will have a half-circle notch at the top of its screen and a chin at the bottom. There's a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C port on the bottom of the device, too. Interestingly, there doesn't appear to be any side-mounted fingerprint reader on this Moto Z4 Play, suggesting that an in-display fingerprint sensor is a possibility.
The back of the Moto Z4 Play is home to a single rear camera with flash and connector pins for Moto Mod compatibility.
There's no word yet on when the Moto Z4 Play might launch. The three previous Moto Z Play models have all been announced in the middle of the year, the Z4 Play's official reveal might still be little a ways off, but perhaps Motorola will buck that trend and announce the Z4 Play soon.
It feels like the only major new Moto Mod we've seen recently is the 5G Moto Mod, which will enable your Moto Z phone to connect to Verizon's 5G network. This Moto Z4 Play leak shows that Motorola isn't giving up on the Moto Mod platform quite yet, and while there haven't been a ton of new Mods lately, there is a healthy number of Mods to choose from if you're interested in the platform.
