The Moto G7 Play is coming, and several aspects of the device have just been leaked by the FCC.
The FCC listing for the Moto G7 Play includes several photos of the device itself and its user manual. We can see that the phone will have a notch that houses a front-facing camera with flash, and there will be a Motorola-branded chin below the screen. The backside will be home to a single rear camera and a fingerprint reader that's embedded into the Motorola logo.
Other details revealed by the FCC listing include a Snapdragon 632 processor, 2820mAh battery, USB-C port, dual SIM slots, and a microSD card slot. And unlike some other smartphones that've been released recently, the Moto G7 Play will have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Also of note is that this particular model — XT1952 — appears to be GSM-only.
This Moto G7 Play offers a newer processor than the Snapdragon 427 chipset found in the Moto G6 Play, and the presence of USB-C rather than microUSB is a welcome sight. The battery on this Moto G7 Play is a good bit smaller than the Moto G6 Play's 4000mAh battery pack, though. Most of the phone's specs and features are still a mystery, but now that the device has cleared the FCC, it's one step closer to release. Stay tuned.
