Now that dual rear camera setups are a regular thing, we're starting to see some device makers push things farther by putting three cameras on the backs of their phones. According to a new leak, Nokia and HMD Global are going even bigger.
A leaked image claims to show an upcoming Nokia device with five rear cameras. The setup is arranged in a circle, with one camera surrounding by four other cameras as well as a flash and a sensor. The device appears to have the model number TA-1094.
Little is known about this mysterious Nokia phone's specs, including what features these five cameras could have. It's possible that they could include a standard sensor, a monochrome sensor, and a telephoto lens.
Nokia smartphones have been known for their camera capabilities in the past, like the Nokia 808 PureView and the Nokia Lumia 1020, each of which had a 41MP rear camera. Now it looks like HMD Global may be looking to revive that heritage of camera performance with this new Nokia device. Now we just have to wait for this phone to be officially announced so we can find out exactly what those five rear cameras can do.
