When Apple began pushing iOS 12 beta updates, it would send them out every couple of weeks. Now Apple is speeding up its pace and sending new iOS 12 beta releases out each week.
Apple today unleashed iOS 12 beta 7. This update is available to registered developers, who can grab the update over the air by going into Settings > General > Software Update or by pointing your web browser at Apple's Developer Center.
The update to iOS 12 is coming this fall with new Animoji, user customizable Memoji, grouped notifications, Do Not Disturb improvements, and more. The update will also bring Group FaceTime, letting multiple people take part in a FaceTime call at once, but Apple today yanked that feature from the iOS 12 beta 7 release. Apple says that Group FaceTime "will ship in a future software update later this fall".
Apple hasn't said why it decided to delay its Group FaceTime feature. After it was available in previous iOS 12 beta releases, though, it seems likely that Apple just wasn't happy with how the feature was working and felt that it needed more work before being used by a large group of people.
Also released today is watchOS 5 beta 7, which is available to developers by going into the Watch app and then selecting General > Software Update. The update to watchOS 5 includes automatic workout detection, Walkie-Talkie, Activity Competitions, and more.
