Google has been testing Android P for the past several months, but now the test is winding down.
Google today released Android P Beta 4 (Developer Preview 5), the final preview update for Android P. This release candidate update includes the final APIs as well as final system behaviors.
If you're in the Android Beta Program, you should receive an OTA update to Android P Beta 4 soon. Those of you not already in the program can sign up right here. You can also sideload a system image if you'd prefer to update that way. Google says that partners in the Android P Beta Program — like Essential and OnePlus — will be updating their devices to Android P Beta 4 in the coming weeks.
Android P is a major update to Google's mobile operating system. It includes official support for display notches as well as a digital wellness initiative that'll help you see how much you use your phone everyday and set limits on app usage. A feature call App Actions will try to learn your habits and predict what you'd like to do next, like offer a Spotify playlist when you plug in headphones.
Google says that Android P will launch to the public later this summer.
