We haven't seen a ton of new Wear OS smartwatches come to market lately, but today Mobvoi is releasing a new Android-powered wearable.
The TicWatch Pro is now available for $249.99 directly from Mobvoi. One of the highlight features of the device is its Layered Display, which uses a transparent FSTN (Film-compensated Super Twisted Nematic) LCD screen atop an OLED display. This lets the watch show info like the time, date, step count, and heart rate at all times without killing the battery life.
Mobvoi has also included an Essential Mode that'll let you only use the secondary screen to extend battery life. Using Essential Mode will get you between 5-30 days of battery life. The full-on Smart Mode will get you around 2 days of battery life.
Other features of the TicWatch Pro include a 1.39-inch OLED 400x400 screen, Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage. There's NFC included for Google Pay, GPS, and an ambient light sensor, too. The battery measures in at 415mAh.
The case of the TicWatch Pro is 45mm and features a stainless steel bezel and rear cover along with a glass fiber-reinforced nylon case. The TicWatch Pro also includes IP68 water and dust resistance.
The TicWatch Pro has a nice, classic design that's reminiscent of an analog watch, and that secondary screen sounds like a pretty nifty feature. Plus, as I said before, we haven't seen many new Wear OS watches come to market lately, so it's nice to see some new hardware with Google's OS launch.
