Google has made some solid improvements to its Files Go app this year, including tablet support and search, and now the app is getting better again.
Offline sharing in the Files Go app is getting four times faster, says Google. Using 5GHz Wi-Fi Direct, users can get transfer speeds up to 490Mbps, which will let you send 100 original quality photos in less than five seconds.
Other improvements coming to Files Go include a dedicated tab for nearby sharing that's simply called "Share". This tab has a smoother and simplified user interface and works on any Android phone running Android 5.0 Lollipop and up.
Also coming to Files Go are improved connection techniques that reduces the time it takes to connect to phones down to just five seconds and a verification that you're connecting to the right person along with encryption for all transfers.
This update is rolling out to Files Go today, so keep an eye out for it.
