AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon updated their LG V30 models to Android Oreo earlier this year, but T-Mobile customers have been left waiting for their Oreo treat. Now it looks like that wait is finally coming to an end.
T-Mobile LG V30 owners have found that they're able to download and install their Android 8.0 Oreo update using LG's Bridge computer software. The OTA update doesn't appear to be rolling out quite yet, and T-Mobile hasn't announced the update on its LG V30 support page yet.
If you decide to download the T-Mobile LG V30's update using LG Bridge, you'll get software version H93220h. This is Android 8.0 and the April 1, 2018 Android security patches. The update also adds LG's ThinQ branding, which suggests that the V30 is gaining LG's AI camera features. One of these features is AI CAM, which can analyze your subject and recommend the best shooting mode.
It's unclear when T-Mobile might begin pushing the V30's Oreo update out over the air, but now that the update is available through LG Bridge, hopefully the OTA isn't far off.
