Rumors have said that the LG G7 ThinQ will have a display notch, but that may not be the only new physical feature of LG's upcoming flagship.
The LG G7 ThinQ will have a button on its left side that will be dedicated to Google Assistant, according to sources speaking to CNET. On the right side of the phone will be a power button.
LG has been making a push for AI to try and help its devices stand out. LG uses the "ThinQ" branding to highlight its AI features, which include the AI Cam feature that'll recognize objects that you're pointing your camera at to help you get the right image for your setting.
We've seen a couple of other devices come to market with quick access to Google Assistant, like Google's own Pixel 2 which lets you squeeze the phone to bring up the Assistant. Apparently LG thinks that having a physical button to call on the Google Assistant at any time is a good way to help the G7 ThinQ stand out. It could come in handy, but it could also be annoying as some owners accidentally press the Assistant button when gripping the phone.
The LG G7 ThinQ will be officially unveiled on May 2.
