We already know that the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P won't be updated to Android P, and now we can add another Nexus device to that list.
The Nexus Player will not be updated to Android P. Google confirmed the news to Android Police today, meaning that the Nexus Player will forever remain on Android Oreo.
Google launched the Nexus Player way back in 2014 as its newest Android TV set-top box. It ran Android 5.0 Lollipop at the time, which means that it got three years of OS updates and got bumped all the way to Android Oreo. That's pretty impressive, and even though it won't get Android P, the Nexus Player ought to be a useful device for owners for a while to come.
