If you're in the market for a new smartphone, Huawei has just released a new device that it'd like you to consider.
The Huawei Mate SE is now available from Amazon, B&H, and Best Buy. All three retailers are selling the device at a discount, so now looks like a good time to jump on the Mate SE if it interests you.
When it comes to specs, the Huawei Mate SE actually looks a lot like the Honor 7X. There are a couple of notable changes that might make the Mate SE more appealing, though, which are its added RAM (4GB vs 3GB) and built-in storage (64GB vs 32GB).
The Huawei Mate SE runs Android 7.0 and Huawei's custom user interface on a 5.93-inch 2160x1080 display. It's got an octa-core Kirin 659 processor inside its shell as well as a microSD card slot for adding more storage, dual SIM slots, and a 3,340mAh battery.
On the back of the Mate SE there's a dual rear camera setup, including one 16MP sensor and one 2MP sensor, that you can use to add blurry backgrounds to your photos. There's also a fingerprint reader below those cameras for added security, and around front is an 8MP camera for all of your selfie needs.
It's worth noting that the Huawei Mate SE is a GSM device, meaning Sprint and Verizon customers should steer clear. For those people on AT&T, T-Mobile, and prepaid carriers that operate on those networks, though, the Huawei Mate SE should work fine. The device is sold unlocked, too, which means you can take it with you if you decide to switch carriers.
